GALVANISED PIPES

Galvanised pipes are steel pipes coated with zinc by dipping them in a hot zinc mas

The Metal Solutions has at warehouse and supplies customers with two types of hot-dip galvanized pipes:

EN 10255

These pipes are intended for transporting liquids and gases under low pressure. Often used for fire protection systems. The pipes are manufactured according to the European Union standard EN 10255. Are suitable for crimping and welding (to install liquid or gas systems, it is necessary to attach elbows, fittings, etc.) also these pipes are used for general engineering works.

EN 10219

These pipes are manufactured according to the EN 10219 structural pipe standard and then coated with a layer of hot zinc by dipping in zinc baths.

Pipes of this standard are not designed to withstand pressure, so they are not recommended for use in systems where liquid or gas will flow through them.

These pipes are used where corrosion resistance is required, but the steel not subjected to other environmental influences (heat, acid, mechanical stress). These pipes are very popular in the production of road signs, used for railings or other simple structures.

Unlike other round tubes (except water-gas tubes), these tubes are usually designated by their nominal (assumed) internal diameter in millimetres rather than by their external diameter. For example, a DN20 size pipe will have an outer diameter of 26,9 mm. The walls of such a pipe may have 3 thicknesses (2.0mm; 2.3mm; 3.2mm), so the inner diameter will be 22.9mm, 22.3mm or 20.5mm.

These sizes are used for the manufacture of structural accessories/fittings, so when designing/preparing a product/structure/system where elbows, flanges, blinds and other accessories will be needed, pipes should be selected exactly according to the sizes indicated in the table below.
